A green, easily-seen bulbul of the forest, common on the Kilembe trail below Kalalama and Samalira camps.
Mainly green above with a whitish, broken or unbroken eye-ring. Races vary geographically; forms range from grey-crowned and grey-breasted with yellowish underparts to blackish-crowned with greyish underparts.
A deep, throaty song with clear notes, most phrases rising, some with cat-like calls.
Common and easy to observe in the forest. In the Rwenzori the greenbul is found from 1,900 m to 3,170 m.
Eats a wide range of foods — fruit, seeds, nectar, small insects and other arthropods, and even small vertebrates.
Generally monogamous, nesting in thick bushes.
Moves seasonally up or down its range depending on food. Easily seen — common on the Kilembe trail below Kalalama and Samalira camps all year.
